Birth records are incorrect on all service related paperwork, Ernest William Burk was born October 15, 1919 in Ravenna, Fannin County, Texas as per birth certificate . From what I can find through family records on Family Search Ernest had a sister, Jessie Lee (Burk) Condra born June 1, 1925 . There is no possible way that their mother gave birth to both children less than five months apart ! This leads me to believe that Ernest entered the U.S. Army with a birth date that made him look 6 years younger for the purpose of getting a better chance of being accepted for service !?!?
