Obituary follows:
"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 111, No 11, p 351, Sep. 14, 1931. Leslie F. Randolph was born near Meadville, Pa., March 12, 1851, and died at the Charles Maxwell Hospital, Lamar, Colo., July 7, 1931, aged eighty years.In his youth he went with his parents to Atchison County, Kan. At one time he was editor of the Nortonville News, Nortonville, Kan. For several years he was assistant supreme court reporter. Kansas was his home until 1905, when he went to Kiowa County, Colo. He established newspapers at Sheridan Lake, Colo., and at Brandon, Colo. He took an active part in every movement for the development of eastern Colorado, serving his community in every way he could. At one time he was county judge.As a youth he joined the Seventh Day Baptist Church at Nortonville, Kan., and kept his membership there all his life. He was always keenly interested in matters of the church and denomination.
His wife, formerly Adeline Wheeler, survives him, also a sister, Miss Georgia Randolph of Leavenworth, Kan., and a brother George Randolph of Nortonville, Kan. A. W. R.

Early Biography on Leslie Fitz Randolph:
HON. L. F. RANDOLPH, farmer and stockraiser, Section 9, P. O. Pardee, one of the most popular and enterprising citizens of Center Township, is a member of the Kansas Legislature. He is the son of Rev. A. A. F. Randolph, who was born in Bridgeton, N. J., January 1, 1805; was of Scotch ancestry and was married in Allegany County, N. Y., in 1828, to Miss Lucy C. Maxson, a native of Rhode Island. In 1816, the family moved to Meadville, Pa., and in 1863, came to Kansas, settling on the farm where the widow now resides. Rev. Mr. Randolph became the pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist Church at its organization in 1863, which position he retained until his death, June 25, 1868. The oldest son, Hon. A. M. F. Randolph, of Burlinton, Kas., is a lawyer. He graduated at the Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa., in 1853; was Attorney General of Kansas from 1874 to 1876; has been a member of the Kansas Legislature, and is at present reporter for Supreme Court. Of the sons, Julius was Captain of Company H, Second Wisconsin Infantry, was killed at the battle of Gainesville, Va., August 28, 1862. Eugene was in Company D, Eighty-third Pennsylvania Infantry; died January 8, 1864. William was in the Pennsylvania Militia and afterward served in Company F, Seventeenth Kansas Infantry; was drowned June 21, 1865, in the Allegheny River, Pa. George served in the Kansas Militia, and now lives on a farm adjoining the old homestead. Two sisters - Emily and Georgie, together with the youngest son, Leslie F., live at the home of their mother, Mrs. Lucy C. Randolph. Rev. Mr. Randolph, during the few years he was a resident of Kansas, did much toward advancing the cause of religion in his locality, and was held in high esteem by all.

Addie B. Wheeler was the daughter of Joshua and Maria Wheeler. She was born in Illinois abt 1857. They lived in Center, Atchison, Kansas (PO Arington). The 1870 Census lists her with an older brother, Charles G. [Greeley] Wheeler age 16. In the 1880 Census, Charles, age 26, is still at home as is Addie, age 23. There are two boarders, D.E. Hummel, age 24, and Chas. Howe, age 37.
The 1915 Kansas State Census Collection lists only Addie Wheeler, age 58, living in Center, Atchison, KS.

UPDATE October, 2015:
The Oskaloosa (KS) Independent (newspaper) featured an article honoring National Newspaper Week and the editor wrote of Leslie Fitz Randolph as the editor of the Nortonville News. The editor reprinted the notice, that appeared in The Nortonville News on July 10, 1931, of Leslie's death in Brandon, Colo. and burial in Eads. The article also stated, "... internment was at Eads beside their only daughter, Olive. There is a photo of Leslie with the article (The Oskaloosa Independent, Thursday, October 8, 2015, p. 11).
