Dwayne Ellsworth Pearson was born May 23, 1947 in Princeton, MN to Glen and Mabel (Forschen) Pearson. He graduated from Milaca High School in 1965. He enlisted in the US Army in 1966 and was assigned to the 612 TC Detachment stationed in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from his service in 1969. He married Judith Winter on April 19, 1969 at the Milaca United Methodist Church. They made their home on "the farm" near Oak Park. Dwayne worked at Fingerhut, Stearns Manufacturing, Woodcraft and for the last 20 years at Crystal Cabinets in Princeton. In the past he was involved with Mille Lacs County Search and Rescue and was a retired Mille Lacs County Reserve Deputy.

He enjoyed playing pool, playing guitar, shooting trap, rollerskating, golfing, summer and winter fishing, bow and rifle hunting, riding motorcycle and camping at Carefree Acres Campground. He owned and operated a kennel of sled dogs and reenacted the fur trade Rendezvous.

He died on Friday, November 17, 2006 surrounded by his family at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 59 years, 5 months and 25 days. He had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Judy of Oak Park; daughter, Jenny and husband George Dulude of Hillman; sister, Ruth Ann Pap of Isle; brother, Mark and wife Vicki Pearson of Oak Park; sister-in-law, Anne Marie Pearson of Columbia Heights; brother-in-law, Ron Swalboski of Mesa, AZ; aunts, Lucille Dietrich of Princeton and Nora Anderson of Isanti; also by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives, many close friends and his dog, Hemi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; sister, Dottie and childhood friend, Bill Steadman.

Funeral service were held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Milaca United Methodist Church with Rev. Woo Jae Im officiating. Interment followed at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Little Falls. Casketbearers included Gregg Weller, Dave Palmquist, John Day, Kenny Latterell, Mike Mott and Bill Hawley. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
