Miriam L. Hoffert, 96, a former Tiffin resident, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, in the emergency room at Fostoria Community Hospital .

She was born August 15, 1912, in Sycamore, to Ira and Lisetta (Heuberger) Konkle. She married Morris Hoffert Jan. 1, 1936, in Iberia. He died in 1982.

Survivors include two sons, David M. (Faith) Hoffert of Tiffin and Phillip (Robin) Hoffert of Akron; a daughter, Anna Jean (Roger) Wadsworth of Brecksville; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Elwood (Marian) Hoffert of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Melinda (Ted) Wolowicz, Paul Hoffert, Garrett (Kathleen) Hoffert, and Ethan (Kimberly) Hoffert; and four great-granddaughters, Corinne and Nichole Wolowicz and Clara and Lela Hoffert.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Konkle; and two sisters, Mary Gaver and Regina Frey.

Mrs. Hoffert was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Tiffin; St. Paul Daughters; KUM Double Sunday School Class; St. Paul Women's Society; Progressive Mothers Club; and Tiffin Chapter No. 189 Order of the Eastern Stars.

The funeral is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 South SR 19, Bloomville, with Rev. Gary Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in Tiffin.

Visitation will be prior to the service 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or to Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
