Services were held this morning at the M.J.Aikin and Som funeral home with Deaconess Nola D. Yoder officating and continued services were held this afternoon at the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church near Montgomery. Burial was made in the Bethany cemetery.
Mrs Sims was born in Daviess county on June 7, 1880 to parents Abner and Caroline Bratton Bowman. She had resided in the Linton commmunity for twenty years.
She is survived by the husband Dennis Sims to who she was married Oct 18, 1937; one son Roy Dickerson of Fentress, VA; a step-one Gilbert Sims of Linton; five sisters Miss Mary Bowman, Mrs Ida Bennett and Mrs Byron Allen all of Washington; and Mrs George Garrard and Mrs Florence Holloway of St Bernice; 12 grandchildren and seven nieces and nephwes.
