Gospel preacher listed on Ligon's Portraiture of Preachers of 1899.

Known addresses are Parsons, KS, and Salem, OR. He was a staff writer of Octographic Review in 1899.

James A. Scott, 1610 North Church Street, Salem, Ore.: "On June 6 we had the formal opening of our newly acquired church building. We are now located on the corner of Chemeketa and Cottage Streets. This day will be to us the proverbial red-letter day in our history. All services were attended by large crowds, with many of our neighbors and friends in attendance. Speeches and prayers were made by many preachers attending the afternoon service, with L. D. Webb, from Central Church, in Portland, making the main address. Present with us was D. W. Summers, the first gospel preacher to hold gospel meetings in Salem, in 1909. --Gospel Advocate, June 17, 1948, 593.
