BLAKELY -- In Veterans Hospital Elsmere, Delaware August 3, 1977, Willie W. Blakely, husband of Marion Blakely, father of Hattie Green of Brooklyn, N.Y., Michael Blakely of Wilmington, Del., brother of Hurk Blakely of Miami, Fla., James Blakely Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Elsie Maye Arnold, Cleretha Mixon, Rachel Lakes all of San Diego, Calif., Bernice Blakely, and Mrs. Cornelia Wilson of Delray Beach, Fla., one sister-in-law Maybell Balkely, 2 grandchildren. Also survived by a host of foster children, relatives and friends. Aged 69 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Hopewell Baptist church, Norman and Main Streets in Penns Grove, N. J. on Sunday evening August 7th at 8 o'clock. Interment on Monday morning at the Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington, Del. Friends may call at the Church on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 PM. There will also be a viewing on Sunday from 12 to 3 PM at the CONGO FUNERAL HOME, 201 N. Gray Avenue, Wilmington, DE.

The Rev. Willie W. Blakely, of 305 W. 6th St., died Wednesday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Elsmere, after a long illness. He would have been 69 on Monday.

Mr. Blakely was pastor of the New Hopeful Baptist Church in Seabrook, N.J. He was a veteran of World War II, and a retired cement mason. He was the foster father for over 400 children for the Division of Social Services.

Surviving are his wife, Marion; a son Michael of Wilmington; a daughter, Hattie Green of New York; two brothers, Hurk of Miami and James Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; five sisters, Essie Mae Arnold, Clearitha Nixon, and Rachael Lakes, all of San Diego, Bernice Glakely and Cornelia Wilson, both of Delray Beach, Fla.; foster daughters, Sheila Chandler, Jerri and Ellen Waters, Tiio Miller, Dorothy Hogart, Brenda Finch, and Fedelia Chapman, all of Wilmington, and Pam Bailey of Los Angeles; and three foster sons, Michael Munson and Anthony Burley, both of Wilmington, and P.F.C. Robert Martin of Ft. Gordon, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
