Velma Elizabeth O'Keeffe, 84, of Visalia died Wednesday in a Visalia convalescent center.
She was a telephone operator for a number of years before retirement.
She was born in Farmersville. She was raised and attended schools in the area.
She is survived by one daughter; four sisters, Marie Cooksey of Visalia; Opal Langston of Huntington Park; Veva Moore of Turlock; and Stella Hadley of San Leandro; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Visalia Cemetery under the direction of Miller Memorial Chapel.

Velma fell in love with Charlie Campbell, but their brief relationship ended with his sudden death of a heart attack on 26 Mar 1965. She was with him when he died shortly after walking into the hospital.
