On December 8, 1868, he was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Roeder who preceded him to the better land ten weeks ago. To this union four children were born. He departed this life February 23, 1920 at the age of 82 years, 3 months, 29 days. He leaves to mourn his loss one son, three daughters, sixteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, besides numerous friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H.P. Clark of Logan, Kansas.
