Henry Jones Botkin of Headwaters, who entered military service on Feb. 28, 1942, writes to the local chapter of the American Red Cross that through the efforts of the Red Cross he has received his discharge from the service and is now at the home of his aged mother. The mother lives alone on a small farm and this young man was her only support. The case was brought to the attention of the local chapter as well as the local draft board, members of which interceded in his behalf with the result that he was given his honorable discharge and returned home July 4.
