A native of Hickory, she was a homemaker and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, WMU leader, GA leader and VBS teacher.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, crafts, ceramics and cooking, known for her wonderful pound cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Burch and Pearl Burch Camp Powell; son, Sammy Black; grandson, Christopher Black, great-granddaughter, Rachel Hawkins; brothers, Jim, Tom and Ben Burch and Phil Camp; and sister, Carolyn Borders.
