James V Foster, 79 of Dresden, retired salesman died after a long illness at 1:45 am, Monday (Feb 5) at Good Samaritan Hospital where he had been a patient the past week. He was born 20 January, 1889 in Muskingum County a son of Robert and Katherine Thresh Foster. Mr Foster spent most of his life in Illinois where he was a member of First Christian Church of Forreston, Illinois. His wife the former Margaret Leetch died in 1959. Surviving are a brother, John E Foster of Lakeworth, Florida; two sisters, Mrs Ray (Elizabeth) Parks of Frankfort, Kentucky and Mrs Homer (Marie) Flegal of New Concord and a number of nieces and nephews. A daughter preceded him in death. The body was taken to Shirer and Son Funeral Home at Adamsville where friends may call 7-9 pm today and 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Wednesday. Services will be conducted at 2 pm, Thursday at the funeral home by Rev Helen Groves, Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
