Another venerable mother of Israel has gone from among us. Mrs. Alice Hughes, wife of William Hughes, Sr., and mother of Rev. John F. Hughes, Judge A. M. Hughes, died near this city, at the residence of Rev. William Doss, on last Tuesday, and was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery on Wednesday. She was nearly ninety years old, we believe, and lived and died a noble Christian woman. For several years past she had been very imfirm, and was no doubt glad to leave for a better world.
