Sonja Marie Cothran Brown, 50, of Greene County MS passed away. She was also known as Maw Maw Shookie. Sonja was born on February 5, 1958 in Moss Point, MS and had been a resident of Jackson County for most of her life; she was also a member of Kreole Ave. Methodist Church. Sonja was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Anthony Hollingsworth; mother, Marie Cothran; father, Charles Cothran Sr.; brother, Charles (Charlie) Cothran Jr.; sister, Kathy Cothran and a niece, April Lee Brown. Her survivors include her son, Scott Hollingsworth; her daughter-in-law, Melissa Johnson; grandchildren, Jacob Scott, Hollingsworth and Alexis Nicole Hollingsworth; sisters Lisa Goff, Leshell Brown and sister-in-law, Stephanie, and her uncle, Roy Cothran; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
