"Sage Family Tree and Pictures", by Richard Sage (29 Feb 2004), "Ira was a Corporal in Company H 15th Regiment United States Infantry. Ira served under General Winfield Scott in the Mexican War."

First, married Esther Anna Richard Sep 29, 1850 at Rubicon, Dodge Co., WI. She died Aug 18, 1865.

Second, married Harriet (maiden name unknown) before the 1870 census for Louisville, Pottawatomie Co., KS.

"Ira married 3rd, Martha Holland 6 Aug 1871: She appears with him Cassie and Harlow in the 1875 census for Rush, Kansas, United States The marriage also appears to be very short lived as he remarries in 1879 and She is shown as divorced on the 1880 Census.
