Betty Jean Bartholomew
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection for Betty Jean Bartholomew, who died Oct. 11 of pancreatic cancer at age 84.
She was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Lane County to Horace and Eunice Moffett Taylor. She married James Bartholomew on Aug. 19, 1947, in Eugene.
She earned her bachelor degree from the University of Oregon. She was a noted piano and organ recitalist and church musician in six states.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Bartholomew of Bellevue, Wash., Sarah Bartholomew of Portland and Anne Nestell of Eugene; two sons, Peter of Spokane and Christian of Eugene; a sister, Mary Helikson of Oakridge; and five grandchildren.
Private burial will be at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Junction City. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, the Eugene chapter of the American Guild of Organists or the Anglican Musicians Foundation.
