After the Civil War (ca. 1872) James brought his wife and 5 children to Gassville, AR. James filed a "patent" on 160 acres at Promised Land Ridge, Marion County, Arkansas in 1885 (May 20) [Homestead Certificate No. 4303]. The Pascoe homestead became known as (Little) North Fork in Marion County, Arkansas.
James moved/sold the homestead soon after his second wife (Mary Frances McCarver) died, 31 Oct 1907, selling the property to his daughter (Mint Alice) and son-in-law (William T. Jenkins) and then moved to Water Creek with his young children, Marion Henry and Neva Belle.
