Placidus Curry "Cap" Cappel, 82, of Beaumont passed away on Thursday May 30, 2002 at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday in the chapel of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Beaumont Haven of Rest Cemetery under the direction of Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native and resident of Beaumont he was a former longtime Port Arthur resident. Mr. Cappel was a retired Operator for the DuPont Orange Plant. He was also a World War II Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine Cappel of Beaumont; sons, Tom Cappel of Mauriceville, and Alfred Cappel of Houston; daughters, Currie Lorraine Warner of Dandridge, TN, Victoria Macdonald of Mesa, AZ, Betty Simmons of Houston, and Cynthia Coffey of Beaumont; a sister, Anna Lauve of Columbus, GA; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
