A resident of Lower Turkeyfoot died at his home May 8th of heart failure. He was born in Fayette County, Dec. 25, 1836, a son of Absalom Steyer. In 1858 he married Miss Phoebe Imel, a daughter of Henry Imel, after which they lived for several years in Springfield Township. Some years later they moved to the state of Illinois where they resided a short time. The balance of their lives was spent at the home near the Harbaugh schoolhouse. A widow and the following children survive: Levi, Stephen, Henry, Grant and Mrs. Amy Workman, all of Nebraska; Mrs. Della Dainton of McPaul, Iowa; Luther of Raymond S. D.; George and Truman at home, Mrs. Clarence Nichols of Scullton and Mrs. Robert Hostetler of Connellsville. Two brothers, Daniel and Elijah of Fayette County also survive.
