A. Lorch Folz, president of the Lorch Co., died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital. He was 61.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sparkman - Hillcrest Funeral Home on Northwest Highway.

The Lorch Co., a family-owned ladies apparel manufacturer, was founded by Folz's grandfather, August Lorch, in 1909. Folz joined the company in 1947.

Folz, a leader in the Dallas fashion industry, formerly served as chairman of the board of the Southwestern Apparel Manufacturers Association and chairman of the board of governors of the Women's Apparel Mart.

He served on the boards of First RepublicBank Dallas East, Golden Acres, North Texas Chapter Arthritis Foundation, Baylor University Medical Foundation and Texas Foundation for the Visually Impaired.

He graduated from Highland Park High School and Southern Methodist University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Folz is survived by his wife, Ann Jacobus Folz, and two sons, Alan Lorch Folz and Robert Henry Folz, both of Dallas.
