(From his service records: Born May 4, 1884. He signed up with the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in Toronto, Ontario, on July 22, 1916, at age 32 and served in France. He was discharged on April 8, 1919, due to demobilization. His death on March 26, 1920 was due directly to his war service. He served with 1st Construction Battalion: Canadian Labour Pool.)
