Howard Franklin "Frank" Baldwin, 71, of Martinsville, died Wednesday in an auto accident in Martinsville.

Born March 3, 1927, in Morgan County, he was the son of Homer and Jennie (Moore) Baldwin.

An auto body repairman, he had owned and operated Frank's Body Shop in Martinsville. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

An avid horseshoe pitcher, he was a member of the American Horseshoe Pitchers Association, Monroe County and Paragon Horseshoe clubs.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine June (Lund) Baldwin; two sons, Dale Baldwin of Waverly and Randy Baldwin of Indianapolis; two daughters, Carol Donaldson of Spencer and Rebecca Root of Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Kathryn Thomas of Greenwood, W.Va., Pauline Stepheson of Ohio and Bertha Simpson of Indianapolis; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Lola Busbee.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville with the Rev. Ralph Christman officiating. Burial will be at Gosport Cemetery in Gosport, where military graveside rites will be conducted.
