Beloved sister of Sister M. Joanette Paleczny, SSND; devoted cousin of Sister Mary Michael Psutka, SSND.
Sister Francesca died at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown, Ontario on July 16, 2009 in her 69th year as a School Sister of Notre Dame. Predeceased by her parents, John and Frances (Kunda) both born in Poland; her brothers, Michael, John, Thomas, Henry, Ralph and George, and her sisters, Sister Joanette Paleczny, SSND; Amelia Grace, Adele Nespa and Dorothy Paleczny.
Prior to becoming a School Sister of Notre Dame, Frances worked as switchboard operator at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener and later as seamstress. She was an avid tennis and badminton player and received several awards in these sports. Sister Francesca was a multi-talented person. During her years in Notre Dame Motherhouse, Waterdown, from 1940-1959, she was seamstress and chauffer. These tasks she continued when she moved to convents in Hamilton, OakviIle, Cambridge and Formosa. In addition she performed other household duties.
From 1978-2000 Sister Francesca assisted the RAISE Home Support Program in Kitchener by driving seniors to appointments and visiting the sick and elderly. Through the years she sewed quilts and designed numerous crafts including beautiful floral centre pieces and wreaths. Her colourful clowns, dolls and snow couples were popular items at the RAISE bazaars. When she retired to Notre Dame Convent in Waterdown, she continued making crafts.

Gravesite Details
Notre Dame Convent Cemetery, Snake Road, Waterdown, was closed in 2019 and all remains were moved to Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
