John Travers died at his home, No. 7 Meadow street, late yesterday afternoon at the age of 83 years. He was born in Laitruny county, Roscommon, Ireland [as written]. He enlisted as a private in company B, 9th Vermont volunteers, September 5, 1864, and served until the end of the war.
Besides his wife he is survived by a brother, Patrick Travers of Tinmouth, and a son, James of this city, also two grandchildren, John and Elizabeth.
