My Aunt. Married Joseph C. Rice; two children: Cecil Albert (1926-2005) & Arlene May. After his death, she married Donald J. Woodruff.

"Aunt Nina lived on the ranch at Nucla for as long as I can remember. I loved it out among the old machinery and cars. I remember one time when I fell in a bucket of slop for the pigs that was on the back porch. They dressed me in some doll clothes of one of Arlene's dolls. There was a picture taken of this, if anyone has it, I would love a copy." Richard Joseph Sage, "Sage Family Tree and Pictures" (Feb 29, 2004).

I too, loved playing on the ranch; it was always one of the places we wanted to visit during our summer vacations to Colorado. We knew the corn would be ripe and delicious and the fields would be a great place to play hide-n-seek.

Uncle Joe taught me to drive using an old tractor and laughed hysterically when my mama chewed him out good because I wasn't nearly old enough to be behind a wheel.

I remember being allowed to bed down in the back of Uncle Joe's old truck and finding it hard to sleep because we couldn't count the number of stars in the sky; but more likely it was because of all the fun company (cousins) we had with us.
