Elsie Laura Kaylor Holloway



Harrisburg, N.C. - Elsie Laura Kaylor Holloway, 70, 8264 Scarlet Oak Circle, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Carolinas Medical Center.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Woolery and the Rev. Glenn Gunter will officiate.

Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord.

The family meeting place will be the home of her daughter, Kimberly Tanner, 13023 Peacock Lane, Charlotte.

Mrs. Holloway was born May, 8, 1934, in McDowell County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Holloway Jr., who died April 13, 1996, whom she married May 19, 1953; a sister Hazel Kaylor; and brothers, Albert and Jonas Kaylor.

Prior to living in Harrisburg, Mrs. Holloway lived in several different places. One she most enjoyed was San Antonio, Texas, where she resided for 17 years. She loved the sun and warm weather of Texas.

Always a peacemaker and wonderful person, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Charlotte.

Mrs. Holloway is survived by a son, Joseph Michael Holloway, Austin, Texas; three daughters, Joyce H. Campbell, Harrisburg, Susan Holloway Snider, Flower Mound, Texas, and Kimberly H. Tanner, Charlotte; four brothers, Lloyd Kaylor, Wilmington, Joseph Kaylor, Marion, Cecil Kaylor, Columbus, N.C., and Ralph Kaylor, Marion; two sisters, Mary Hayes Miller, Marion, and Margaret Early, Midland; grandchildren, Matthew and Stacey Campbell, Brandon Holloway, Joseph and Jeffery Tanner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
