His parents moved the family to Camano Island, Washington in 1950, where they owned and operated Maple Grove Resort. Bob graduated from Twin City High School in 1961. He proudly entered the Air Force in 1965 and served overseas in Bangkok,Thailand until 1968. Using his skills learned in the military, Bob joined the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an air traffic controller. After 38 years of government service, Bob retired in 2003 from his position as Air Traffic Control Supervisor at the Seattle Center in Auburn, Washington.
Bob was an avid sportsman and enjoyed all forms of hunting, fishing, crabbing and boating with his friends and family. He spent many fun filled times at his Wilson Creek property in eastern Washington where he was a guide for trophy deer hunting. He also spent time at the family's cabin on Camano Island where he became quite proficient at feeding eagles with left over crab bait, always a fascinating show for the entire beach. His quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by us all.
Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara; their two sons, Rob Neale III, 24, and Evan Neale, 23, of Auburn; sisters, Betsy Broz of Tacoma (Passed away June 14th 2017) and Meg (Ron) LoDolce of Camano Island; nieces, Debbie (Brian) Olson and Kristie LoDolce of Redmond; uncle, Jay Grasham of SanRafael, California and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bob Neale, Sr. in 1994 and Frances Neale in 1996.
