MILDRED E. (LILLIE) LAON
Oneida - Mrs. Alfred Laon, 65, of 208 Almond St., died yesterday morning in Oneida City Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Higginsville, Feb. 20, 1895, the daughter of William and Rose Althea Doty Dawley. She was married to Alfred Laon.
Mrs. Laon was a member of the Past Noble Grands Assoc. of Rebekah Lodge; Mizpah Rebekah Lodge 85, IOOF; St. Paul's Evangelical United Bretheran Church, its Ladies Aid Society and the Faithful Glass Cleaners of the Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Daneil Clay, Oneida, Mrs. Harold Sparks Jr., Camden, and Mrs. Richard Haskins, Oneida, a brother, Cecil Dawley, Canastota, two sisters. Mrs. Flossie Kline, and Mrs. Bert Erdige, both of Oneida; nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Munroe Funeral Home, 230 Broad St., Oneida, with the Rev. Oren Lorenz, pastor of St. Paul's officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Higginsville.
