A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at St. Benedicts Senior Community Chapel in St. Cloud, Minnesota for Caroline E. Brink age 92, of St. Cloud and Dumont, Minnesota. Caroline passed away peacefully and joined her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend Ron Weyrens will officiate. Burial was on Monday, April 27, 2009 in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Dumont, Minnesota.
Caroline was born on March 26, 1917 in Tyler, Minnesota to Henry and Henrietta (Baasen) Prom. She grew up in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota and attended Cathedral High School. Education was an important aspect of her life and she attended various colleges and universities with degrees from; The College of St. Benedict, St. Louis University, Loyola University in Chicago, and Notre Dame University. Her degrees focused on Theology, Psychology, and Sociology. Caroline met her husband selling Bibles door to door throughout the Midwest for a Company out of Chicago. She married Joseph Bernard Brink on January 14, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. They were blessed with four children.
Caroline was actively involved in her state and local government regarding civic and religious issues. She took a strong interest in the civil rights of the Disabled, the Pro-Life Movement, and promoting the Fatima Message. Caroline will be remembered for hosting many family celebrations for all holiday's and birthday's. She traveled throughout the world as an International Missionary, devoting her life to Christ and her family.
Survivors include her children, Charles, Mary, Philip (Toni); grandchildren, Christina, Jon, Wolfgang; brother, Raymond (Esther) Prom; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Joseph; son, Joey; brothers and sisters, Alphonse, Felix, Ervin, James, Leo, Alexander, Bernice Thomas, and Celestine Neeser.
Special Thank You's go to the care given to Caroline at St. Benedicts Senior Community, the friendship extended from everyone at Donohue Novak at Law, the many visits from relatives, friends and local clergy, and the generosity in providing clam chowder from the Red Lobster Restaurant.
