Mr. Wilkerson was a Master diesel mechanic at Tri-State Mack, Inc. He was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church at Diaz, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar, and spending time with his children.
Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pauline Perry; and his paternal grandparents, Earl and Francis Wilkerson.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Clark) Wilkerson; his parents, James and Kathy Wilkerson; two sons, Kevin Clark and Christopher Clark, both of Tuckerman; two daughters, Lee Ann Wilkerson and Mary Wilkerson, both of Tuckerman; two brothers, James Wilkerson, Jr., and Marcus Wilkerson, both of Newport; his maternal grandfather, Paul Perry of Diaz; and his uncle, Mark Perry of Diaz.
Burial was in Fakes Chapel Cemetery at McCrory.
