On Oct 17, God saw fit to call from us our beloved wife and mother, Minnie Frances Harned. She was born Jan. 6, 1876 and departed this life Oct. 17, 1949., which makes her 73 years 9 months & 11 days old. She was the only child of the late Jacob and Margie Lyons, who preceded her in death many years ago. She was married to Benjamin Franklin Harned, Aug. 1, 1894 and to this union were born five children, all of whom were at her bedside until death. She now leaves to mourn her going, her husband and children, Hubert Harned, Margie Bruner, and Ernest Harned, all of Custer; Myrtle Gray and Mattie Smith of Irvington. Ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. She professed faith in Christ early in life and joined the Custer Methodist church of which she was a faithful member until age began to keep her from going. She was also a charter of the O. E. S. and R. N. of Custer. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to everyone and will be greatly missed in her community, but most of all in the home. Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church by Rev. F. J. Perkins, of McDaniels, assisted by our pastor, Rev. J. M. Dye and Rev. Squire Whittaker, of Clarkson. She was laid to rest in the Custer Cemetery near the church where the funeral services were conducted.

She is the daughter of Jacob Lyons and Margie McGuffin Lyons who are buried in Lyons Cemetery, Custer, Kentucky.
