Agnes G. Erickson
April 13, 1917-Oct. 25, 2009
PENDLETON - Agnes G. Erickson, 92, of Pendleton died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Juniper House in Pendleton. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 in Olney Cemetery, Pendleton.
Mrs. Erickson was born April 13, 1917, in Detroit Lakes, Minn., to Falda and Katherine Fruetel Schweigart. She was raised and educated in a farming area of Detroit Lakes and attended Little Floyd Grade School and Detroit Lakes High School. She married Carl Erickson in 1935 in Detroit Lakes. She and her family came to Pendleton in 1950.
While here she worked at many retail stores in the area including the Woolworth's Department store, the 88 Cent Store and Sigman's Grocery Store. She later retired. In the late 1970s the couple moved to the Newport area of the Oregon Coast. They remained there until returning to Pendleton in the mid-1980s.
Mrs. Erickson is survived by daughter Helen G. Campbell of Pendleton; brothers Owen K. Erickson of Pilot Rock and Donald E. Erickson of Pendleton; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in her death by her husband, Carl Erickson, in 1985; her parents; and four brothers and two sisters.
