David Leroy Jarvis, 92, passed away August 23, 2022 at his home in Burton's Ridge Assisted Living.

He was born November 27, 1929 In Tiffin, Ohio to the late George and Clara (Snyder) Jarvis.
On August 26, 1950 he married Norma Jean (Jean) Jarvis, who preceded him in death.

On June 3, 2017, he was committed to Louine Smith who preceded him in death.

David was a Christian man and was active in church his whole life. He was a deacon in the Assemblies of God Church and the Presbyterian Church. Until health prevented it, he was attending The Church at Allentown.

David loved to travel and every summer he and his family would go on vacation. Most times it would be tent camping, and the family traveled all over the South, Midwest and Eastern United States. His dream vacation was to go back to Germany where he served in the Army, which he had the opportunity to do after he retired.

He supported his daughters while they were in the Elida High School band and never missed a football game or parade.

David worked for 30 years at Lima Ford Engine Plant where he was an inspector.

After retirement he became active in the UAW Retiree Local 1219 where he held the office of president. He was a proud Army Veteran and became active in the VFW and the Korean War Veteran's Association where he held the office of president.

David was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Jarvis, and eight siblings: Arthur, Wilda, Wilbur, Verona, Naomi Ruth (Mickey), Emma, Christina and Robert.

David is survived by two daughters, Linda (Donald/Frosty) Frost and Cheryl (Randy) Mulholland. There are three grandchildren: Andrea (Jose) Vasquez, Lisa (Jose) Cortes, Liza (Ryan) Young, and seven great grandchildren: Elisa, Anthony and Eli Vasquez; Giana Cortes, Dylan, Melody and Renee Young.

The funeral will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL @ 828 Bellefontaine Ave., Lima, OH 45801. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Glory Geib. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery where Military rites will be observed by VFW Post #1275 of Lima and the U.S Army.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Eastside Chapel and one hour before the memorial service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice, as they made his last days and passing comfortable and peaceful.
