Mrs Margaret Virginia (nee Cerutti) Gulbrandson, 93, passed away peacefully at the Ridgewood Health Care Center on Tuesday, November 2, 1999.
She was born in Braceville, IL on October 11, 1906 to the late George and Antoinette (nee Bertitia) Cerutti. On February 20, 1926, she was united in marriage to Berger Gulbrandson who preceded her in death on November 25, 1985. Mrs Gulbrandson had been a Racine resident since 1927.
Mrs Gulbrandson had been employed in the Meat Department of Piggly Wiggly for over 10 years. She was a faithful member of Christ Church United Methodist where she served with the Mary/Betty Circle. Mrs Gulbrandson enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, crafting ceramics, watching football and baseball games, and was an avid reader. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her son, Martin Robert (Shirley Marie) Gulbrandson of Racine; daughter Marjorie Ann (Dennis Walter) Kozich of Middleton, WI; grandchildren Chris Martin (Shelley) Gulbrandson, Gregg Robert Gulbrandson, Brad Eric (Ellen) Gulbrandson, all of Racine, Kathryn Kelley (Dustin) Eilert of Mazomaine, and Robert Walter Kozich of Madison; sister-in-law, Nancy (Chester) Skowronski of Braidwood, IL, Lois (Royce) Eck of South Bend, IN; Dick (Jo) Lettsome of Racine; Pat Cerutti of St Petersburg, FL; Marianne (Achille) Cucco of Pietra Ligure, Italy, Antoinetta Chiadopoli, Giorgio Chiadopoli, and Antonio Lina Chiadopoli, all of Torino Italy and her special dear friend for over 70 years, Winifred Perry. Further survived are many other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs Gulbrandson was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline; and brothers Joseph, William, and John.
Funeral services will be celebrated in Christ Church United Methodist, 5109 Washington Avenue, on Friday, November 5, 1999, at 11 am with Rev Kaye Glennon officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Church United Methodist.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful staff members on 2 East at Ridgewood Health Care Center and Sr Ruth Schaaf for their loving, compassionate care and spiritual support given during Mrs Gulbrandson's time of need.
