Edward Levin, 48, son-in-law of Mrs. Minerva Pflaum and the late Ralph Pflaum of Noble, drowned in Kentucky LakeSunday as the result of a boating accident. A lO-year-old boy died as a result of the same accident. Levin, a resident of Gilbertsville, Ky, near Kentucky Dam, was duck hunting with two other men and a boy, when the boat overturned Sunday morning. The boy, William Alexander, 10, of Paducah, Ky, and the other two men managed to hang onto the boat. The Alexander boy was taken to Benton, Ky. Municipal Hospital as soon as the three were rescued, but he died 45 minutes after being admitted. Authorities said his death was the result of exposure to the freezing water.The other two men apparently were recovering from the ordeal.
Edward Levin was not seen after the boat tipped oyer, and the Marshall County Rescue Squad started dragging operations Immediately. The rescue effort was called off at sunset Sunday because of the freezing temperatures and resumed Monday morning. Levin's body was found later Monday. Mr. Levin's wife, now deceased, was the former Alice Pflaum, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Pflaum.
