W.H. Hague Death
The great bank of flowers at the funeral of W.H. Hague Saturday was but a climax to a well spent life, and a tribute by his host of friends who knew him as a man with unfeigned devotion to his hundreds of friends.
The great crowd from over the South Plains came to witness the last sad rites in appreciation of the one they had known and loved so long, one of the largest crowds that ever assembled in this town.
The services were conducted by Rev. C. Holtzclaw, pastor of Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. W. E. Anderson, pastor of the Methodist Church, under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Choir: Rock of Ages, Someday we'll understand. Solo: At Evening Tide by Mrs. Hortzclaw. Choir: Abide with Me.

W.H. Hague was born in Tennessee in 1876 and was therefore in his 66th year when death over took him after an operation in Dallas last week.
Mr. Hague moved to Yoakum county in 1907. For a number of years he taught school at Gomez. He drove the mail back for awhile. In 1916, he was elected county-district clerk of Yoakum county and was reelected every two years until 1940 when he said he did not feel that his health permitted him to make the race that year. The fact was that many of his friends did not look for him to live through his last term of office, since he had been a sufferer for a number of years.
The county and state has lost a valuable man; the people a trusted friend; and the family a wise father and counselor.
He is survived by the widor, six daughters: Mrs. M.J. Reeb, Mrs. D.M. Yarbrough, Mrs. D. Oden of Dallas; Mrs. Odis Lusk of Austin; Mrs. Mollie Smith, Mrs. Ralph McClellan of Plains; a son, J.B. of Edna; two sisters, Mrs. L.L. Lindsay of Ft. Worth; Mrs. Dick Foster of Alex, Oklahoma; four brothers, T.W. and J.C. of Dallas; C.M. of Jefferson, Org; J.F. of Plains; and about 14 grandchildren. All his children and two brothers were present.
Other relatives present were two nieces, Mrs. Sutherland of Dallas; Mrs. White and daughter of Lubbock; Mrs. Hague's brother, Bud Butler, deputy sheriff of Dallas County, and wife.
Pall bearers: Bert Bartlett, M.W. Luna, Stanford Webber, Joe Webber, Irby Bedford, Johnnie Fitzgerald.
