OLIVER FLUKE
Oliver Fluke, of Plainview, Texas, who spent his early years and middle life in Lucas county before going south several years ago, was injured in September when he was struck by an automobile while walking on a street in Plainview, his home town.
He lingered until October 4 when he passed away. The day before his death he had a vision in which he saw heaven and named persons he saw there. They were waving to him and said, "Come on, we are waiting for you." He went to sleep but was soon wakened and was disappointed that he did not wake up in heaven. He said it was such a beautiful place. In a couple of hours he was gone. He was an outstanding christian and faithfully preached hell and damnation to the unrepentant sinner.
Mr. Fluke is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter. He was preceded in death by one son and two daughters. He was the grandfather of James Fluke, of this city, and an uncle of Chas. E. and Grover Fluke, and Mrs. Fred Yengel. Mrs. Fluke, who was formerly Cornella Foster of the county, has been an invalid for some time.
Funeral services and burial took place in Plainview.
