Mrs. Norma Long Sharpnack, aged 52 years, of Carmichaels, died in the Uniontown Hospital, Wednesday night, August 10, 1927, at 7:30 o'clock, where she was admitted for treatment Wednesday morning. She had been in poor health for some time. Mrs. Shaprnack was born at Muddy Creek, Greene county, December 27, 1874, the daughter of Winfield Scott and Mahala Tannehill Long. Her father died 28 years ago. Mrs. Shaprnack was married twice, her first husband having been Harvey Zimmerman of Waynesburg, who died. From this union, three children survive, James L. Zimmerman of Beverly, W. Va., Harvey Zimmerman of Carmichaels and Mrs Searight Stacey of Puritan. Two children died in infancy. May 6, 1916, she married A. Linton Sharpnack, who, together with two step-children, D. Lee Sharpnack and Elizabeth Mae Sharpnack, survives her. A step-son, Glenn Sharpnack was drowned at Ohiopyle two years ago. Mrs. Sharpnack is survived by her mother; two sisters, Inez A. Long of Carmichaels, and Sarah V. Long of Philadelphia, and a granddaughter, Norma Stacy, of Puritan. She was a member of the Colonel Andrew Lynn Chapter, D.A.R., of Uniontown, Daughters of America of McClellandtown and the Bible and Missionary societies of the McClellandtown Presbyterian church although she maintained her membership in the Waynesburg Methodist Protestant church.
