She was born 13 June 1853 in Washington D.C. She was the daughter of Alexander Summerville Wotherspoon (Fag# 55908256) and Louisa Adelaide Kuhn. Her father was the Assistant Surgeon US Army and was President Zachary Taylor's primary physician during his presidency. She came from a family of accomplished individuals. Her sister Caroline Wotherspoon was the wife of Washington Matthews, Her brother was Major General William Wallace Wotherspoon.
Evelyne was an accomplished woman in her own right as she fought for the women's right to vote. She was a founding member of the National Woman's Party, the worlds first women's political party founded in 1916. She met with many world leader's of the day and worked along with other women tirelessly to secure the rights of all women.
Evelyne died 24 Nov 1937 in Washington, DC and is buried in Arlington in Sec. 3
