Mr. Townsend was a veteran of the US Army and was a disabled coal miner.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy Townsend, sons, Brandon of Logan, Paul (Andrea) of Valley View, David of Columbus, Ohio, and step-son, Rick Clay (Sandy) of Hopkinsville, KY,and one brother Jack Townsend of Seattle, WA., also surviving him include seven grandchildren, Corey, Gabrielle, Ryan, Bethany, Isabella Townsend, Eric Browning and Krystal Clay.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan with the Rev. Billy Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan.
