A memorial service for Kelly Layton Stephenson, age 46, of Bastrop, Louisiana will be held 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2007 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Rev. Britt Dupree officiating.
Kelly "Fuzzy" Stephenson was born June 11, 1960 in Bastrop and he died June 5, 2007 at his residence following a fight with cancer. Kelly was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a 1978 graduate and Senior Class President at Bastrop High School. Kelly also attended Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) in Monroe.
He is preceded in death by his father, W. Layton Stephenson, brother, Keith Stephenson, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Stephenson, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Seymore, and Ellis "Bob" Steele.
Kelly is survived by his mother, Dot Stephenson of Bastrop, two sisters, Kay Stephenson of Baton Rouge, and Kathy Wood of Longview, Texas, a niece, Lindsey Wood, nephew, Taylor Wood both of Longview, uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Nolan of Demorest, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. George Steele and Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Carter of Bastrop, Jimmy Steele of Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stephenson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hezog of Bastrop, numerous cousins and friends.
