Manti/Elsinore
Lathael Frank "Buzz" Winn, Manti and formerly of Elsinore passed away September 23, 2002, Payson. He was born January 25, 1921, in Smithfield to William Frank and Lavon Cragan Winn. He married Alice June Julander, September 20, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. She died December 9, 1967.
He married Dorothy Jessen Forbush, December 27, 1968 in the Manti LDS Temple. He managed the cheese factory in Elsinore for 13 years. He taught school in Sevier School District for 26 years. He was Elsinore Town Mayor, School Board Member, Bishop of Elsinore LDS Ward, Ward Clerk, Scout Master Home Teacher and most recently, temple worker at the Manti LDS Temple. He also played bass fiddle in temple band from Manti. Buzz was a great friend to all. He helped anyone in need. He was a special husband father stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by five children, Bill (Ruth) Winn, Annabella; Randy (Janice) Winn, Orangeville; Tracy (Lori) Winn South Jordan; Larry (Carmen) Winn, South Jordon; and Steven (Sherry) Forbush, Aurora. Sisters, Edith Carpenter and Bernell Meacham, both San Diego, California. He has 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, at 11 a.m. in the Manti LDS Tabernacle, 100 South Main, Manti. Friends may call Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, and again on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Manti LDS Tabernacle. Graveside services will be Friday, at 3:30 p.m. in the Elsinore Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield.
