S. R. Powell who made his home with his daughter Mrs. Ida L. Barnard at 211 Seventh avenue west died at 4 o'clock Sunday morning. Mr. Powell was an old soldier having served with Company M the second Ohio regiment during the war and being a member of Joe Hooker post G. A. R. He and his daughter have lived here since last October. He was the father of six living children all of whom are living here. Mrs. Powell died two years ago. The funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the home. Rev. O. L. Cook, pastor of the Christian church of which church Mr. Powell was a member, will officiate and the G. A. R. will have charge. Burial will be in Eastside cemetery.
