BESSIE GEHRT SERVICES HELD AT MALLARD
Mallard - Mrs. Bessie Gehrt of Mallard died Tuesday, May 23, 1978, at the Palo Alto County Hospital. She was 92.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gehrt were held Friday, May 26, at 11 a.m. from the United Methodist Church in Mallard. The Rev. Dale Batcheler officiated over services.
Burial was in Rush Lake Cemetery with Schellhammer Funeral Home of Mallard in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were Dennis Ditch, James Gehrt, Raymond Hartsock, Ray Truelson, William Weinzett and LeRoy Nelson.
Bessie (Hybert) Gehrt was born Nov. 18, 1885, in Reedy, W. Va. She received her education there.
On April 24, 1927, Bessie and George Gehrt were married at Gifford, Ill. The couple moved to a farm near Mallard where they made their home until 1941 when they moved to California. Mrs. Gehrt returned to Mallard in 1968.
Surviving are two sons, Lester Gehrt of Mallard and Jerome Gehrt of Little Marais, Minn.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gehrt was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1968; one son, Philip, and his wife, Erma; her parents and four brothers.
