Morgan Ross, an aged and well known citizen, died at the Waynesburg hospital, Saturday morning, March 26, at 3:30 o'clock. Five weeks ago Mr. Ross fell at his home on South Richhill street and fractured his left hip. He was removed to the hospital and on account of his advanced age his condition was serious from the first, and his death resulted. Mr. Ross was a son of P. A. and Maria Matthews Ross, deceased, and was born near Rutan, this county, February 22, 1843, being 78 years of age. He was a descendant of the Ross family of Revolutionary fame. Mr. Ross was a carriage maker by trade and was engaged in the carriage business practically all his life until about ten years age when he retired. He had resided in Waynesburg for fifty years and was well known throughout the county. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. He was twice married. His first wife was Margaret Throckmorton, and following her death he was united in marriage with Mrs. Ada Hardin, who survives, also two children, Charles Ross, of Bowling Green, Ky., and Miss Marie Ross at home. One brother, C. W. Ross, of Rutan, and two sisters, Mrs. T. B. Horn and Miss Lottie B. Ross, of Washington, Pa. also survive.
