Helen M. Heffelfinger, 75, of Perrysburg, OH, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003, in Medical College of Ohio Hospital. She was born in Weston, OH on February 23, 1928 to Ray Virgil and Mabel (Whitman) Potter and was married on May 14, 1948 in East Toledo to Robert E. Heffelfinger. She was a 1946 graduate of Milton Center High School. Helen worked as a sales associate for over 30 years with Elder Beerman in Toledo, retiring in 1999. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg and was a former member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Toledo, where she helped found the Pi Etta Gamma young adult group.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E.; son, Terry L. (Nancy) Heffelfinger of Perrysburg; daughter, Sue A. (Donald) Stone of Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Chelsea B. Heffelfinger, Jason B., Gregory R., and Kathleen M. Stone; brothers, Ray W. Potter of Grand Rapids, OH, and Harold J. Potter of Bowling Green, OH. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Potter.
Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH, 419-874-3133. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2003, in the First United Methodist Church, 200 West Second St., Perrysburg, OH, with Pastor Terry Powell officiating.
