The funeral service of Albert N. Gormley, 58, prominent Douglas county pioneer citizen, who passed away in a Wenatchee hospital early Wednesday morning was held from the Thomas funeral home today at 2 p.m. Mr. Gormley was born in Wright county, Missouri in 1878 and moved with his parents to this part of the state in 1888. Later he homesteaded near Alstown in this county and has resided in that vicinity since that date. He was married to Miss Myrtle Hayden in 1897 to which union eleven children were born, all of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. Ray Bell of Wenatchee, Mrs. Harry Snyder of Waterville, Mrs. Henry Brandt of Orondo, Glen and Myron Gormley of Waterville, Mrs. Ed Lamp of Seattle, Kenneth, Blanche, Dennis, Hugh, and Robert of Waterville. Dennis is a student at the normal school at Cheney.
Besides his wife and children Mr. Gormley is survived by his aged father and one brother, Wesley of Waterville. He was a member of the Badger Mountain Lodge No. 57, F.&A.M. of Waterville and the graveside services were conducted by members of that fraternity. Mr. Gormley always took an active interest in county public affairs having served as county commissioner from 1929 to 1935. Interment was in the Waterville fraternal cemetery.
