Mrs. Ida G. Malloy, on of the old and respected pioneers of Waterville, died of heart affliction at her home here Saturday morning. She was a resident her since 1891, coming here from Pennsylvania ni 1891, shortly after her marriage to Mathew B. Malloy, who practiced law here for more than a quarter of a century. Funeral service was at the Presbyterian church Monday afternoon, Rev. Relmann officiating and burial was in Waterville Fraternity cemetery.
Ida G. Malloy was born at Shadeland, Penn., and later graduated from the Edinboro normal school at Edinboro, Pennsylvania.
She taught school in Pennsylvania and then came to Nebraska where she taught school and was assistant in the office of the county superintendent of schools.
She was married to Mathew B. Malloy Feb. 4, 1891, and they came to Waterville soon after their marriage. He died on the 23rd of March, 1926.
There were three children; Myrna who passed away in infancy and Frank B. Malloy and Alice M Kummer. She also leaves four grandchildren, Bessie L Kummer, Myrna Kummer, Marion J Malloy and Alice Malloy. She has one brother surviving her, Ernest A Gates of Springboro, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Episcopal church and of St. Luke' s Guild.
