Seth Bruce was the son of Jesse Bruce and Anna Sinnett. On March 18, 1826 he was married to Mary "Polly" Tower, daughter of Abner Tower and Lucina Spencer. Seth and Polly had six children; Deborah Tower (b. 1827), Jesse Seth (b. 1829), Anna Eliza (b. 1831), Mary Romaine (b. 1833), Alexander R. (b. 1836) and Joseph W. (b. 1838).
