She was born in Cassville, daughter of Lester and Jewel (Wells) Bowling. She married Donald Thomas Smith in 1957. They made their home near Hurley. She worked many years at the casket factory in Crane. She attended church at Bowling Chapel and then later Clever United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Bowling; and step-sister, Marilyn Farsoun.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Smith, of Crane; mother, Jewel Hanger, and step-father, Noah; and brother, Dennis Bowling, all of Spring-field; step-brother, Jim Hanger, of Norman, Okla.; daughters, Pamela Schaefer, and Melissa Scott, and husband, Steve, all of Crane; son, Ronnie Smith, and wife, Dana, of Clever; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
